It seems that college students around the country have always been fans of hamburgers. But students at Downey, California colleges seem to have an even stronger affinity for this quintessential American fast food. That's because this city is home to the world's oldest McDonald's. Before Ray Kroc jumped into the franchise in 1955, the McDonald's Brothers erected this flagship restaurant with a 60 foot high golden arch (which still stands today). It only seems fitting that Glen Bell would then erect the first Taco Bell nearby in 1962. Students at Downey, CA area schools certainly have their pick of fast food options.
