The management team overseeing all marketing activities usually asks these questions, and there is generally a team of analysts that go out into the market and find the answers.
Those who wish to become marketing managers will generally need a 4-year college degree either in business marketing, or a range of other humanities subjects. Students who major in sociology or psychology often have insight into human behavior that help them become successful marketing managers. The highest-level managers often have also received an MBA at a reputable business school.
