The duties of a paralegal are varied and interesting. You would probably spend time involved in the wide range of preparation and follow-up required by court cases and hearings. Courses will vary, but you can expect to study subjects such as family law, civil law, and legal research, along with criminal and business law. You may also undertake an internship to develop your practical skills.
As a qualified paralegal/legal assistant you would probably work in a private law firm. You might also find openings in insurance companies, banks, or corporate law departments, among other locations.
