A lot of people are unclear about what computer engineering is. Computer Engineering is the application of the scientific method to solve practical problems using computer technology. Computer engineers and engineering technologists and technicians work together as part of an engineering team to solve practical problems by applying principles of science and math. The engineer tends to work more in theoretical terms and is more concerned with design. The engineering technologist tends to work more in practical terms and is more concerned with putting the design into practice. You can earn vocational training in a program of this kind in only two or three years which will qualify you to work as a technician within an engineering team. You will also be prepared to go on to study at a four-year college and earn a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering Technology if you so choose.
