Classes will include basic concepts of interior design but also important elective subjects like drawing, sculpture and art theory so that you have the background to make exciting choices for a company or client.
And so much of interior design inovles problem-solving. A rule of thumb is that no matter how identical two spaces are, no two rooms are completely alike. Clients are different, electrical lay out can be different; even the smallest difference can change a project radically. A degree prepares you for all these vagaries of the business.
But most importantly, getting into interior design allows you to be creative and artistic without having to forgo a potentially lucrative career. It's the perfect union of art and commerce. Go for it!
