Hospitality Training in California
If you are thinking of training for a new career, then why not consider the benefits of following a college course to become a Hospitality Administrator or Hospitality Manager. If you are looking for a career that is just that little bit different then an education within the world of the hospitality industry may be what you are looking for.
Your role as a Hospitality Administrator or Manager would be to manage, co-ordinate, monitor and record the activities and finances of the company you work for. Your duties may be many and varied, so you would find it helpful to have a hands on' and can do' attitude. As a Hospitality Administrator or Manager you could very well be using software to track inventories, point of sale totals, schedules and payroll. Whilst many courses may teach you about specific packages, you would find a basic level of computer literacy helpful. Your level of responsibility depends largely on your role and the size of the organization.
You may find employment opportunities in hotels, health clubs, golf clubs, restaurants, bars, or holiday resorts. Entry-level positions include Deputy Manager or Club Administrator of a medium sized business. The nature of the hospitality industry means that you will probably be working when many other people are enjoying their leisure time. You will highly likely find that you have to work evenings and weekends. Pay is usually lower than other industries but benefits are usually generous. If you can show grace under pressure, like working with the general public, and enjoy the prospect of plenty of variety, then maybe a career as Hospitality Administrator or Hospitality Manager is for you.
