Office Administration Training in California
If you are interested in the healthcare field and want a springboard to a new career, an education in Medical Office management or administration could be for you.
Depending on your particular interests, you can choose to work in a variety of healthcare environments such as sports medicine, pediatrics, primary care, dermatology, surgery, dentistry, care facilities and clinics. You don't need to do a medical degree to work as a medical office administrator but you will need to become familiar with a basic level of medical terminology. A typical entry-level course caters to the first-time medical office manager or supervisor. Office policy and procedure are identified and analyzed and upgrading and troubleshooting are also covered. Computer data collection, entry and analysis together with a look at financial issues affecting the medical office are included with the aim of producing an employee who can provide solutions and management leadership qualities to the healthcare environment. Other topics covered during college training are coding, insurance, billing, communication, record and report writing.
As a certified medical office manager or administrator, you will work as part of a team that would include the medical professional, medical technicians, and other support administrative staff such as receptionists and secretaries. Experience gained in this field can later equip you to obtain positions of greater responsibility and leadership in larger and more complex practices.
