Human resources is one of the most valuable things a company possesses ? success relies on having a productive and knowledgeable workforce who can work as a team for the benefit of the business. As a Human Resources Manager it would be you responsibility to ensure that your company is provided with the right people with the right skill sets and plenty of motivation.

As well as interviewing and selection you may be involved in training requirements, grievance procedures, benefits, disciplinary hearings and reference provision. You may be expected to use personality tests, interviewing skills, and aptitude tests to compare candidates against job profiles, which you may have helped construct. You may benefit from possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Courses vary a little between colleges however your education to become a Human Resources Manager may include: selection procedures, law, benefits, psychology, tax, business skills, negotiation skills, arbitration, mediation, and labor relations.

Entry level positions include Deputy Human Resources Manager in a medium sized firm, Payroll Administrator, a support role in labor relations or positions in recruitment agencies. Pay varies enormously depending on the size of firm you work for, your experience, and your responsibilities, but could be anywhere between $35,000 to $115,000 per annum.
